Backstory: Portuguese Water Dogs are extremely active and require a tremendous amount of playtime with their owner. We purchased Piper from a young couple who lived in a 1-bedroom apartment and worked during the day. After 3 weeks of owning her, they knew she was not an "apartment dog" so we kind of rescued her to our lakefront home, where she plays and swims daily, and goes on multiple walks per day when the lake is frozen.
